ORFY - MOX eye drops
COMPOSITION
Moxifloxacin HCL BP
eq. to Moxifloxacin 0.5% w/v
Sterile Aqueous base q.s.

MODE OF ACTION
ORFY - MOX eye drop is a fourth generation ocular fluoroquinolone ,a broad spectrum antibiotic
that is active against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
It functions by inhibiting DNA gyrase, a type II topoisomerase, and topoisomerase IV,enzymes
necessary to separate bacterial DNA, thereby inhibiting cell replication.
DOSAGE
one drop in the affected eye 3 times a day for 7 days
INDICATIONS
1 bacterial conjunctivitis
2 keratitis
3 blepharitis
4 endophthalmitis
SAFETY PROFILE
safe even in 3 days old baby

SALIENT FEATURES
Broad spectrum antibacterial against aerobic gram positive,aerobic gram negative and other microorganisms.
Greater susceptibility of ORFY- MOX eye drops ( 72.1% )to resistant pathogens as compared to ciprofloxacin ( 65.6% ) and ofloxacin ( 60.4% )

Near neutarl pH ( about 6.8 ) hence high solubility.
HOW TO USE
For best results, use exactly as directed for the full time prescribed.
Stopping this medication too soon may result in a relapse of the infection.To apply ORFY -MOX eye drops,
wash hands first. To avoid contamination, do not let the dropper tip touch any surface.
Tilt your head back, gaze upward and pull down the lower eyelid to make a pouch.
Place the dropper directly over eye and instill the prescribed number of drops.
Look downward and gently close your eye for 1 to 2 minutes.
Place one finger at the corner of the eye near the nose and apply gentle pressure.
This will prevent the medication from draining away from the eye.
Try not to blink and do not rub the eye. Do not rinse the dropper.
If you are using other kinds of eye drops, wait at least five minutes before applying the other medications.
Do not wear contact lenses while you are using this medicine.
SIDE EFFECTS
Blurred vision, watery eyes, eye pain/dryness/redness/itchiness may occur.
